hongkie, maybe zorro is too busy. Let me try to answer your question.

Sthai: looking tricky. It could go up or down. If you like to speculate it, use tight stop.

Sthai-w1: I think it is interesting. stop=1.59

Who know where we can have free chart of SET, preferably daily and real time chart? Thanks.

sthai: have to agree with scrt4u
sthai-w1: don't follow this one, but with an ex-price of 2 and sthai trading at 5.8, the warrant is at a steep discount at 1.68. strange. you might verify this datas as i took them from 1 broker only and often these numbers are wrong.

Stay away from STHAI. It has a P/BV of ten times and negative P/E. This is clearly a manipulated stock like PICNI was. Picnic went down from 26 baht to 50 satang , I would not be surprised to see Sunthais to go down to 10 satang and then get delisted.

at this moment of the year, volumes still modest, this is not the normal situ. Actually, volumes should be 20 billion up/day, this is serious, local retailers and institutes may leave the markets for good. Active accounts now below 30,000 a/cs

Not Really, SET lacks big players from political fronts. Normally they play around 4-5 billion/day but due to fear of property investigation, volume diminished.

some hotels & hospital still move nowhere. Fear of China IPO is nonsense.

thx for info on accounts. The positibve aspect is that there is potentially a lot of money on the sidelines - but maybe the market has to go up enough to bail inactive accounts out of their losses. The amount of money on the sidelines is easy to underestimate.

At Thursday, October 12, 2006 11:31:00 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Actually, retailers have been on the Sell side throughout this year, so they must have purchasing power, yes don't underestimate. One day when all of them feel the need to raise money for their children on New Year, SET would fly on the new space chuttle.

Oil price down plays

Energy costs e.g. cold storage CFRESH ASIAN SCCC TPIPL +ve

Substitution natural chemical e.g rubber for Synthetic e.g STA

High fuel costs SSC (distribution of heavy low value product) THAI? hedging? RCL?

Raw materials prices: TASCO TFI? AJ? PTL? Depends on contract

Processing margins? Could be tricky as to whether positive effect

Wuz come over all fundamental all of a sudden. Better off looking for the next ramp.

"retailers have been on the Sell side throughout this year"

Forced sales maybe - Volume came in in 2003 when stocks were very high. Suspect selling has been forced unwinding but as it is gambling money for most not life savings small enough to replenish from salary e.g Kim Eng average account size is 50,000 - just above the minimum.

At Thursday, October 12, 2006 1:44:00 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

SET is up with small volume could be because people are unwilling to sell as they have been forced to sell low for the whole life as you said, and many may have nothing to sell.

CHEAP speaks something worth listening.
When SET was around 690 and trying to break 700 several times, I heard brokers/analysts said "SET would be see-sawing around 690-695 and would go nowhere unless it could break 700 or 702." This gives an indication that if SET could break 700 or 702, SET could go further.
But immediately when SET breaks 700, I begin to hear from you that SET is now too high and would collapse to 690 one more time. What is it? Jealousy is really a green eyed monster?

At Thursday, October 12, 2006 2:12:00 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

set: the 705 resistance is a line connecting the highs on 16.8. and 19.9.,if broken we could see a further rise to the resistance of an uptrend channel in the area of 730. foreigners are still net buyer so i wonder what all the brokers tell us about selling pressure for the chinese ipo. this afternoon we will be a bit wiser.

At Thursday, October 12, 2006 2:22:00 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Hey ! the same brokers/analysts who told you that SET could advance further if it could break 700 level, today they talk about "over bought", "Low Volume" "Divergence", etc, etc., immediately after it breaks 700
hahahahaha, don't listen to them, listen only to your Chef, or "Kha Yai" and buy good ones that still in the swamp. For stocks that are weak in fundamental but punted, wait, it would be restored very soon like elastic band.

It's said that the Singaporean Prime Minister met with the new PM of Thailand. Singapore is going to recognize the new government of Thailand. So many stocks related to Thaksin such as ITV, sattel, shin, etc rebounced alot this afternoon.

At Thursday, October 12, 2006 5:03:00 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

scrt4u, the news is not the PM meets with Thai PM, the news is that Temasek intends to reduce its stakes in SHIN Group, this make tension about "concessions" reduced and thus helped share prices. But It is sentiment only,as it is very difficult in action. For example, who will buy from Temasek, problem about nominee that cannot be delete even Temasek wants to reduce its proportion.

anonymous: KK's earning in the next 15 months wl be around 4 baht, whereas TTA's earning can be more. You will see that with the pressure of low level of BDI for the first 8 months this year, TTA can still make more than 5 baht for the whole fiscal year.

ait:close to the double peak at 18, will be a resistance but should be broken, maybe after a small retreat. buy on weakness with stop 16 or on breakout, 1st target 21, then 23.
uv: reaching the previous high now, would not buy. rsi shows bearish divergence, if you hold it better take profit.
ccet-w1: looks like it is breaking a falling resistance since august. volume increasing, looking good. watch the rising support of the mothershare since april. if this line is broken, it would be better to exit the warrant.
picni is cooking, no idea when it can pull up. as this is a dangerous stock, better to act on a breakout above 0.45 with strong volume to play it for st.
advanc: rebounded with low volume, i expect it to fail the resistance at 96. the possible upside after the res. is broken is too small to outweigh the downside risk. take profit.
bbl: strong resistance at 120 and very strong resistance at 125, maybe will peak together with set index hitting 730-735. sell on strength.

to notaclue:
nsm: still cooking, just hold it and wait
nwr: there will be a bit profit taking after it could not break the previous high at 0.8. for those who want to enter, 0.65-0.7 will be ok.
susco: cooking in the range between 0.42 and 0.5. only the cook knows when dinner will be served.
tpipl: broke the important horizontal support at 10 in september and recovered, now it seems to weaken again. i would prefer to switch as the next downturn could be big. if there is no cash in the portefolio, tpipl would be my choice of sell.

to hongkie:
sgf: a bit unsure, you could buy with a tight stop at 0.55 to minimize losses.
siam: st support at 4.4-4.5 but it looks a bit like a bearish triangle. if you want to buy, set stop at 4.4

to hua and cheap::
bgh: uptrend was broken in august, i would not get in

to pau:
iec: in downchannel since february, the channel is wide and steep, so it could go down a lot before hitting the support (now at 1.1) but the upside to resistance (3) is also high. remember when i wrote about iec in march (or at least several month ago): :i would not be surprised to see iec back at 1.4 this year.....". better stay away until more positive trend signs develop.
ck-w1: take profit now and buy back a bit above 3.5 where the 25 day avg has crossed the 75 day avg. there might be an interim support at 4 which could be an entry as well.
smm: if fundamentals are ok you can buy. set stop at 1.04 if you don't want to have much risk, otherwise a stop of 1 would be fine.
theco: bearish triangle since february, buy only on breakout above the resistance now at 1.6

Those TA investors, they prefer to buy stocks when their SMA 25 are above SMA 75 and as a matter of fact, stocks with this TA characteristics are stock with having good profitabilities and growth. But for stocks that having the SMA 25 below the SMA 75 and esp., when their profitabilities and growth exist and continue for several years, one day it will fly high.

mlink: should follow win soon, maybe tomorrow? 2.2-2.3 is resistance.

sc: looks a bit different as the gap is not below the former horizontal support, but still worth holding until set reaches 730.

perm: is a cooker, hold on and wait for a breakout, difficult to predict when. narrow sideways channel since 25.9., use a break of support as stop and break of resistance to buy more.

ptl+dsgt look good but ah has a bearish rsi-divergence. might fall back to 15. if you want to be safe sell and buy back lower or buy back in if 17.5 is broken.

agree with scrt4u that TPIPL is cooking: some facts & figures:
EPS 0.73 for the first 6 months (1472/2019 = 0.73) BV above 23 baht (Equity 48115/2019 = 23.8 baht) if we add the 3rd Q result, the EPS may now exceed 0.99/share, no wonder, they can pay 1st time interim div. this year.

from phillip sec.:
According to the news published in some newspapers (Post Today) regarding to AH interests to purchase share of KPN more than 25 %. AH has been talking to KPN but
until now nothing has been conclusive (Source: The SET)
Comment: AH has a plan to acquire both local and abroad auto part suppliers to enhance its efficiency. KPN is one of those companies. According to the SET, AH
has been talking to KPN but until now nothing has been conclusive.
Due to a price discount, giving to its main customer, Isuzu, AH’s gross profit margin this year will decline significantly. For next year we expect the revenue to
improve by Bt749m to Bt8,661.53, representing to a growth of 9.47%YoY, due to new business with Nissan and Ford. By the end of this year AH will also begin its
new business by supply Hard Disc Drive to Toshiba. Moreover it plans to relocate its outsource parts to produce in new factory to improve its margin. We expect the
company to generate the net profit of bt581.09m with EPS of Bt2.06. Fair value is Bt19.14 per share, rate “BUY” on the shares

existing shareholders must buy TPIPL at 10, so their avg.cost must be higher than 10, PP shareholders can buy at 10.15/share. So total registered capital now is 2019 million or 2.019 billion shares and raise up new cash = 12,115 million baht (2019-807.5=1211.5 million share @10 each) making its new equity = 36789 + 12115 = 48904 million baht at least. BV therefore = 48904/2019 = 24.33 baht/share (reduced from 45.++/share before the increase of capital)
So, when someone sitting on the TA analysis saying that the share price would plunge below 10 baht, let's make it. The 1stH EPS even with the increased cap. is 0.73/share, the expected full year EPS is betweeb 1.20-1.50/share and with the recent increased capital, it is one of the financially sound stocks of the con.mat sectors.
tks for your attention

as monday the set is closed for holiday, i will answer all questions on monday.

At Monday, October 23, 2006 4:12:00 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

set: the channel resistance of the june channel is now about 735-740 for this week, rsi getting in overbought territory
there is another steep and narrow channel since beginning of october, a break of this support line will be the start of a correction.

bfit: reversal in september, now in a channel uptrend, if you buy use 9.3 as stop, 10.7 is st resistance. weekly chart shows still downtrend with resistance at 10. maybe safer to wait for a breakout this week. if set fails at 740, bfit might not break 10 on the weekly chart.
bls: rsi getting in overbought territory, a bit late and risky to buy now.
fns: resistance at 12.5-13. could move in a lt uptrend if broken, otherwise sideways trading with danger of further downtrend. better to buy on breakout or wait till 25 day avg crosses 75 day avg. should take some time..
bfit looks the most promising of the 3.

distar: volume peaked and now in correction. difficult to predict the support, i guess 0.85-0.9, better stay away for now.
nsm: still cooking

ums: corrections due to overbought rsi usually don't last long, it should now target the major resistance at 15-16.

ktb: could not break 13 in the 5 year chart for 3 times and this year failed several times to do the same, better take profit.

qh: in an uptrend channel since june, touched resistance 1.2 on friday, better wait for a retreat to support at 1.1.

smit: looks ok for mt or lt, on friday strong volume which indicated a st-peak during former times. rsi on 1 year high, better wait for a st-correction to buy.

dow closed strong yesterday, usually set opens strong and then starts going down. all the above mentioned stocks could do the same.

zorro,

what do you think of GSTEEL & with oil price retreating, what will be the effect on SET?

Thanks

At Tuesday, October 24, 2006 9:37:00 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Look at MAI which is a better indicator of economy wide earnings than SET (which is reflecting PTT PTTEP SCC etc). Higher low and volume building.

SMIT: Punta filled boots when Management issued a press release saying how bad the outlook was.

At Tuesday, October 24, 2006 2:01:00 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

gsteel: looks a bit like bearish triangle, but a kind of double bottom (july/september) and a small triple bottom this month suggests a good entry possibility. kind of 50/50 now, a close above 1 would give a more bullish picture.

oil price and set: oil futures fell from 80 $ in july to below 60 now. remember when i said in july to sell pttep because of the high oil price and then someone screamed oil will go much higher? oil had 2 peaks at 80 $ on14.7. and 7.8., the set was 660 and 710 at those dates, 45 points difference. since then oil fell 25% but the set continued to gain 20 points. is there a correlation we should worry about? better stick looking at individual charts.
