I suggest EWC. It has an unbelievable P/BV of just 0.3 and if it was not for the 500,000,000baht loss incurred with the SGF promissory note 2006 result would have been 77 satang profit. At current price that is a 4 P/E.

pau, BLAND looks good. stop=0.7 Good luck. As to its worrant, better ask zorro.

MPT: take a look at its two years chart and you can see it's been cooking for quite long. Stop=1.80 Good luck.

beware of EVER. Tomorrow it quotes XR, capital increase is 1:1 at 1baht.Price might be pressed downward by people who need to sell to get funds to buy the new shares.
Should the price go down to 1 baht anyway, be ready to pawn even your shorts to buy every share you can !

gaudente, I appreciate your stock pick. Keep your good suggestion. Good thing come from discussion. I think EWC is looking good. If enter, set stop = 3.90 Good luck.

EWC is from same source as Picnic. What you think you see is not what is really there. What you think you see is what they let you see. If you play, take special care.

To Gaudente,

Your decision to buy 100,000 at 1.00 on 29/03/2007 was great. I seconded your decision on the same day. Now it's up 26%. This is the way to make money.

Move LPP to 1.22 or higher. Enjoy:)

EVER: move LPP to 1.55

UNIQ: This is a new stock if I am not wrong. It's moved for 4 days. Move your LPP to 2.4 or higher. Enjoy:)

EGCOMP: this stock took out the previous resistance at 104. What's the factor to drive it? If chase, set stop=104.

N-PARK: move LPP to 0.26

TMB: Warming up again. Fasten your belt. Good luck.

HEMRAJ: this stock broke out today. If you chase, set stop=0.92 Good luck.

just sold my 100,000 KMC at 1.21 .
Very bad news today: they are going to reoffer the unsold shares of capital increase through private placement at a price of 1 baht. I guess that's where the price of this stock is again headed.

SSEC: your remaining position continue making profit. Move LPP to 1.52 or higher.

N-PARK: it keeps moving up for 5 days. It's up 45% since our call. Seems some resistance around 0.30-0.32. If it can not take out this resistance, lock some of your profit. Enjoy! :)

TNITY: some securities stocks keeps moving up recently. TNITY seems to have some res. around 5.40.

KTP: brokeout its downtrend channel but today's volume and the long handle of the hammer seems a little tricky.

Bland: move LPP to 0.80. Enjoy! :)

LH: brokeout today. If chase, stop=7.20 Good luck.

To zorro & scrt4u,

im a newbie in terms of stock trading an am considering seriously about trading on the set. I have bought and sold already with a small profit.

I have followed your blog with great interest over the past few months and really appreciate the tips as im sure the rest of your bloggers do. I also read up the BKK Post daily and esp on monday where they do a forecast where half the time theyre wrong.:)

Now what % of capital do you commit to trading and of that, what weight would you commit to high risk stocks? Being relatively young I am willing to play it med-high.

And how many stock would you recommend a newbie buys at any one time, i know its better to have a spread, but there is a point to how much isnt there? I would guess 5-10 ??
hoping to get off on the right foot
thanks very much guys

DB

Very bad news about KMC

ASSETS SCRUTINY / THAKSIN, FAMILY IMPLICATED

Check on bank's B9.9bn loans
Ampa Santimetanedol

The Assets Scrutiny Committee (ASC) is poised to set up a sub-committee to investigate irregularities involving 9.9-billion-baht in lending by state-owned Krung Thai Bank to property developer Krisdamahanakorn (KMC), a source in the ASC said.

The probe is likely to be headed by ASC member Saowanee Asawaroj who heads a preliminary fact-finding inquiry into the improper lending scheme.

According to the source, the investigation was made possible after the Bank of Thailand lodged a formal complaint with the ASC.

In its complaint, the BoT implicates deposed leader Thaksin Shinawatra, his wife Khunying Potjaman, their son Panthongtae, and former KTB board directors led by Suchai Jaovisidha.

The complaint has been sent to ASC chairman Nam Yimyaem.

Two representatives from the Office of the Attorney-General and another from the Royal Thai Police will also join the investigation. The sub-panel is expected to be formed and call its first meeting next week.

It was alleged that the KTB executive board which was chaired by Mr Suchai approved the loan on the order of Mr Thaksin and the former prime minister's close associates. The money was said to have been transferred to politicians, not to the company for a restructuring programme. According to the source, more charges are likely to be levelled against people implicated as investigators delve into alleged irregularities.

Should you still have it, sell double quick !

thx for congrats scrt4u, but that was just a lucky pick among many other bad ones.
For example two days ago bought 50,000 Fancy at 1.96 . It dipped to 1.80 yesterday . Anyway, at such a price it might be wise to buy another 50,000 on Monday

gaudente, you profited 21% on KMC. Now even it will crash to zero or be delisted, you lose nothing. Your stock picks are always welcome. We can discuss your picks and you have the final say for them.

At Saturday, April 07, 2007 12:47:00 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

DB, happy to know you have benefited from this blog. But some people lost money by following this blog. Be cautious.

zorro and I are honest. We try our best to provide the "most probable" profitable stock picks here.

If you are a newbie, I sugggest you gradually increase your amount to invest in Thai stock market.

But remember 3 points:

1. Do not put over 10% of your total amount in one single stock;

2. Always cut loss when your loss is still "Small".

3. Focus on "protection" of your principal. Small loss is allowed but neve allow a big loss.

Note: If you do not invest over 10% of your total money, even the stock crashes to zero, your total maximum loss is only 10%. On stock market there are many opportunities of 10% profit. When you recover 11%, you get back your 10% loss. If you loss 50%, you have to make 100% to recover your 50% loss.

Hope helpful.

I think KTB has been oversold on rumours about FIDF offloading its shares, so what even if it does, the fundamentals remain the same, and it has a divident yield of 4.5%. TSTH (Tata steel) is another good pick as steel prices have been now going up, i have started to accumulate both these stocks now. Tata of India bought TSTH at price of 1.15 so whats the worry?

ASP and Barclays deal.

Barclays Capital have an office here and are active in the debt market, BUT if my memory serves me right they also have a dormant SET brokers license which they acquired when they bought whoever it was they bought to get the debt license. SO, why would they stay with the ABN/ASP deal if they have an office and a SET seat here. They will either transfer to BARCAP or if that is not the strategy close ABN office here. Either way it looks like a loss of ABN's volume for ASP, but then again, how much volume are ABN (the dead broker that refuses to die) actually doing?

KTB has been sold on rumours of increasing NPL but this morning sources said the said NPL was the debt from one public enterprise under the guarantee of the Min. of Finance. Once the reimbursement of cash made by this public enterprise from the Min. of Finance, the fund would be paid to KTB, and then the NPL would be diminished immdly. However, KTB is much better than BAY, or SCIB or even SCB or BBL in term of yield and current market price.

TMB: move LPP to 1.75 or higher.

Theco: in uptrend.

stpi: Moving upward slowly.

apure: broke out on 24/04/2007. If it can not hold above 1.25. RP or exit.

Bland: has been in an uptrend since 02/04/2007. It seems some resistance around 0.95. RP or exit if 0.90 support breaks.

Picni: looks cooking. Because it is only 0.27, even one setang up or down has big percentage impact on your position. Be cautious! Good luck.

BT: It's now a falling knife.

Syntec: If 0.95 can hold it, then chase it with tight stop.

pau, for advice on warrant, you'd better ask zorro. In a TA view, I guess:

Stec-w2: It's forming a "flag" waiting for breakout (up or down). Wait and see.

TGCI: looks like a puzzle.

BCP-w1: seems there is some support around 2.10. If this support breaks, RP or exit.
