Stocks Discussion No.2 - 2007

:)
SAT: Moving healthy. Since our call on 30 Jan. 2007, it's moving up. Keep moving your LPP consistantly. For example, you should move your LPP to 9.0 now (2 Feb 2007)
:)
PTL: This stock broke out its downtrend channel. It gapped up to break the previous two highs and the downtrend channel. Use 3.4 as stop or RP point.
:)
DE: move your LPP to 0.80
:)
PSAP: This stock broke out, but a little late to get in. If you chase, use small position and tight stop. Or get in after traceback.
:)
TT&T: now move your LPP to 1.0 or a little lower.
:)
PE: This stock broke out. If you chase, set tight stop. Good luck. Exit point = 0.65
:)

noble: weekly chart shows uptrend support at 4, daily chart could indicate a head and shoulder (bearish). st correction likely, i would buy around 4.4-4.5 with stop 4.

ynp: you can buy with stop=5

mfec: seems to go nowhere

csl: lots of gaps in the chart, a bit strange. from the weekly chart it looks cooking and might be something for lt.

lanna: should close the gap between 12 and 12.5, but then…..?

maybe scrt4u can give a second opinion.

My view as follows:

NOBLE: now in wave2. Usually it is safer to enter in wave1. Big volume on 2 Feb. 2007, probably punters used some of its money to take out the previous resistance at 4.50 if it was not distributing. Anyway, set your stop=4.60.

YNP: looks better. Seems in uptrend. Stop=5.0

MFEC: seems there is some res. around 4.5 although it looks in an uptrend.

CSL: looks res. around 4.00. which is an important point.

LANNA: brokeout downtrend. Use tight stop to build your initial position and increase gradually if entry is good.

Just "blind guess". Please use your best judgement.

They are buying to lock in a partial cover on a synthetic index instrument they have sold a client which allows the client to go SHORT.

At Saturday, February 10, 2007 12:53:00 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

As it is through UBS it is probably the person who dealt through UBS before. Maybe he has a plan and is going short ahead of it. Somebody not caring about acting in a way that leaves a USD 100m footprint in the market which can be read by others is pretty confident of something.

This is a guess, but I don't see anybody going long USD100m in a day and if it was a large foreign fund they would have given the order to more than one broker. Kim Eng was net SELL on the same day, which supports my view. Their retail buy, big hand sell.

wuffli
since the index fell because of the B.O.T.'s 30% reserve for capital inflow and the New Year's Eve bombs, no any foreigners did sell short, they really quit with the approximate amount of 20 billion baht and not long after, it appears that foreigners are on the Net Buy side. Therefore, your guestimations that the Net Buy on these few days were to cover short is not realistic because prices of many shares are higher. I suggest you cannot resist but try to be a Net Buyer for the coming week and make profit

spack: had a volume peak on thursday after reaching nearly a 1 year high. looks like correction coming up with 2.5-2.6 as support. if it holds for several days you can enter with 2.5 as stop (uptrend line since june).

hemraj: buy with stop in the 25 day avg area (0.8-0.85)

bsbm: downresistance since august reached last thursday, better wait for a breakout (close above 1.3-1.33) and use 1.27-1.3 as stop

pttch: you can buy with stop 74 but it does not look promising for a lot of gain (87 would be time for profit taking)

At Monday, February 12, 2007 9:00:00 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

New position going on. Not to cover short from BoT or bombs. What I am syggesting is that the buy represents the long part of an assymetric hedge and is to cover the premium on a put (short) option. i.e if the index goes up the gain in the long short position will offset the premium paid and lost on the short put. If the index goes down the leverage of the put will make the loss on the long stock immaterial relative to short gains.

At Monday, February 12, 2007 11:52:00 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

The above explanation sounds ambiguous but in brief, it represents a new Buy (long) position expecting SET to go higher. Thai's all.

At Monday, February 12, 2007 12:38:00 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Not really, funds buying long are careful not to put the price up against themselves. They buy much more carefully.

PE: It's already up 330% since our call. Too good to believe it? If you catched one of this kind of big fish, how many times could you try other breakouts opportunities with small loss stops? Do the math. For example, if you allow 10% loss with each try, you can try over 30 times. According to the math theory of "possibility", the it's 50/50. That means you have 15 time to earn bigger than 15 times to lose small.

That's the way to "blindly guess" and win. :0)

Hope helpful to you.

ck: seems to have a fight with some avg-resistance (75, 125 and 200), will be difficult to break and the gap from december is looming.
not the best time to get in. for the warrant: it will expire soon (end of march, suspension will be in 2-3 weeks), with a gearing of only 2 you won't gain much but could lose a lot.
i think i recommended in december to buy the warrant, it would be time to sell now with a profit of nearly 40%.

tgci: strong resistance at 1.7-1.8 nearly reached today. if 1.8 is broken it could target the 200 day avg at 2.

perm: fighting with the 75 day avg now, a bit correction possible and would be a chance to buy. Support at 25 avg=1.13 is a bit downside, if you bought it, hold for longterm, if you want to buy, wait for a dip.

Bernanke confirms last night that FED will be able to cut interest rate next meetings, following this news, the B.O.T. will cut first at the meeting end of this month, however, since all real estate stocks are up quite a lot, we foresee the only sector that will benefit from interest rate cut is Banking Sector first.

ktb: a kind of bearish wedge is developing with support 12.5 and res. 13, might go up a bit further to close the gap at 13.7

aj: a tricky one, could be a peak today, so if you enter use a tight stop (approx. 3).

ccet: bullish, if you buy use 75 day avg as stop (now 4.4)

smit: might be some weakness ahead or only small upside.

To ken - agree with zorro, a few more words on CCET. This stock just broke out its previous two highs, so as long as it can hold above 4.60, you still have opportunity to make profit. Good luck.

ueda, the ODD of win/lose is 50/50. As long as you cutloss small. For the long term, you win.

What is the verdict on MME? Also, though these don't seem to be going anywhere, something keeps drawing me to look at JAS, NSM, and EPCO, with the last two on cooking lists for several months.

solar: looks like we will see a new low. wait for signs of a double bottom around 3.2 before entering

mme: 25 day avg could be support (2.55), use as stop if you are holding.

jas and nsm: not looking interesting for the time beeing

epco: still creeping up, i would exit if 0.54 breaks

Thanks scrt4u. I have been stuck with this for many many moons and now sun comes. Will we see the rain soon and followed by a rainbow? Hope to wait at the end for the legendary "pot of gold".
In simple langguage, please advise target for this round.
Thanks again.

UMI san, if you cutloss when it was still small, how could you get stucked in a stock. Remember you only date with a stock, never marry a stock.

MME: is shooting up today. Now you believe the fundental info they purposely released to the public? If you believed, you losed the opportunity to enter on 7 Feb. 2007 at 2.62. If you bought at around 2.62, now you are in profit of 24% within about 10 trading days.

-------------------------------
MOVE LPP to 3.00 or higher now
-------------------------------

I called MME on 7 Feb. 2007:

History makes us wise. Pls read my post in the comments area under the thread of Cooking list No.2 - 2007

----------------------------------
MME: I do not know its fundamental. I am also not good at interpreting their financial report. But technically this stock is cooking. Hard to believe? If everybody believe, how could the insiders accumulate "cheap" shares? Wait and see. Let fact prove I am wrong.

Wednesday, February 07, 2007 2:40:15 PM

----------------------------------

Now you understand why fundamental info or research report are not always reliable?

Warning: ITV is breaking important support at 1.00. This could be a signal of further falling down but when winter comes, could spring far away? Cutlosss or reduce position considerably and buy back when its price is stable again. Maybe after you cutloss, the price will go up again. It does not matter because you loss is locked. If you do not cut loss, the loss could be bigger and bigger and you can only regret "If I cut loss when it broke 1, I would not have lost so much". This is a real case study of cutloss when loss is still small.

It's all up to yourself.

Liam, are you from HK or Sigapore?

EPCO is quietly climbing up from 0.48 to 0.60; up at more than 20%. Look at the chart and you can see there are many star-shaped candles. This means the punters are very careful. I think you can move your LPP to 0.50. If it can not stay above this support/res, reduce your position.

At Tuesday, February 27, 2007 1:56:00 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

sorry typo. Sigapore = Singapore

Move LPP to 0.59.

You see, even on Chinese New Year, the punters are still working hard to pull it high.

Now move LPP to 3.60 or higher. Enjoy our fans! :D
