If you bought AP on 28 Nov. you could smile happily

I recommend that TPIPL, RRC, IRPC CPN, still have upside gain

yong, welcome to this blog. My view for your consideration:

PTT: we recommended enter PTT at 220 on 22 Nov. 2006 with a stop at 216. Now it's up about 7%. Now you can hold it with a "profit lock point" (LPP) at 232.

FNS: Let's see if 12.40 could be a double bottom. If 12.40 can not hold, cut loss and switch to other cooking stock, for example MPT, etc.

HANA: If you cost is 21.20, you are in profit, right? Now around 27 should be a triple-bottom. If 26.75 breaks down, lock profit or reduce your position.

ITD: this is a very good joint venture between Italy and Thailand (real estate development stock). Now it broke the uptrend channel (connect 22 Sept., 20 Oct., 30 Nov. and you can get a line). If it continue going down and breaks
6.50, exit (cut loss). Preservation of your capital is the major task after your entry, especially when try a new play. Remember always cut loss when it is still small.

At Monday, December 04, 2006 2:01:00 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

To ueda, I don't think you can estimate the support now. Did you notice that the price keeps going down very slowly, or bit by bit. Wait until it breaks up the down channel. Support for AJ should be around 3.20, my blind guess.

At Monday, December 04, 2006 2:04:00 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

mme: i am keeping an eye on it, waiting for a breakout of the downresistance since september. not necessary to hope that the alltime low of 4.86 will be a support.

aj: first support nearly reached (25 day avg as well as straight uptrend line @ 3.2) but might be broken with the low volume. second support is 75, 125 and 200 day avg close to each other at about 3-3.1.

At Monday, December 04, 2006 2:51:00 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

RCI: broke out. If chase, set stop at 2.10. GL.

To learner - Match made a 68% up (25 July - 5 Sept.) and then every higher is lower than previous high, indicating a down trend. If you have it, set LPP/stop at 1.85.
As to it warrant-1, it's forming a flag pattern, ambiguous. Better ask zorro's view.

At Monday, December 04, 2006 2:53:00 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

TUCC: if you have this stock, move LPP to 6 or higher.

At Monday, December 04, 2006 2:58:00 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

GSTEEL: it could not break 1.10 for 3 days. Get ready to reduce your position if it still can not take out this resistance.

At Monday, December 04, 2006 3:19:00 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

RRC: we recommended this stock when it was 18.40 on 24 Nov. 2006. It moved up from 18.4 to 19.20 in the past 5 days with about 4% profit. Today I suggest to reduce your position or lock some profit because it changed direction. You have the final say. Blind guess.

Many 4% can make accumulate big profit.

TT&T: is ready to move up

Scrt4u, how you know?

At Thursday, December 07, 2006 3:04:00 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

To madame fifi - I know it by "many blind guess experiences". In the game of playing stocks, remeber a simple principle: cut loss when it is still small. Now buy TT&T with a stop at 1.29. This means you buy it tody, then observe the price, if the price goes down and break 1.39, you exit by cutting loss. If it goes up, move your stop up accordingly. It's that simple. Please visit http://thaistocktips.blogspot.com/2006/08/successful-recommendation-list.html and you can see our successful stock picks since last July.

chilli, what I mean is Opportunity is bigger than risk. Even a very fundamentally-solid stock, the insider can do a shakeout any time. You always have to set a protection.

At Friday, December 08, 2006 2:12:00 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Answer to whom(you'd better give a nickname, otherwise I can only answer this way)?

PSL: your cost 53.5, now a 7% loss. Did you see it's forming a M-shaped pattern and a probable double bottom. If it breaks down the support at 49.50, cutloss.

TT&T: You got it at 1.68 cost? You should cutloss when it broke the support at 1.55. Now hold it because it is cooking.

GEN: Did you notice that it looks like a "parabola" now? It seems in a downtrend. But let see if it can hold above 1.2. If it breaks 1.2 support, exit no questions asked.

At Friday, December 08, 2006 2:19:00 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

AMC: wow! this stock is really flying. Did you chase it? I advised you to chase. So next be brave to chase what you loved. It is up over 20% since my call two days ago. Really quick money. Now move you LPP to 4.5. Don't be greedy. If 4.5 breaks, reduce your position.

At Friday, December 08, 2006 2:22:00 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

DELTA: dare to chase this stock? If you do, set stop at 17.20-17.50. Good luck.

Generally you can tell who the foreign shareholders are from the SET shareholder info because the names are in English. Obviously you can't tell who the nominee/custodian banks are holding them for, but you can make informed guesses as to what type of holders they are from this info.

FYI Bloomberg has this info (i.e names of individual funds etc) so if you do size you can ask your broker for this info. It is derived from funds regulatory reporting.

To notaclue - When we say a stock is cooking, it does not neccessarily mean that it will only go up. A stock moves in an "up and down" way. But finally the "UP" is bigger than the "DOWN". It is very easy to sell your stocks. If you don't try to sell at the offer price but sell it at the bid price, it's very easy and quick to sell. It's done after you click your mouse. If you will have vacation during the Xmas and New Year, better keep cash.

EPCO: cooking.
NSM: of course this stock is cooking. When it was only 0.36, we called it cooking.
MPT: cooking. As long as it does not break the support range (1.86-2.00). Mark my words, sooner or later, this stock will break 2.50.

If you can not withstand these "tortures", sell your stocks at the bidding price. It's done just after you click your mouse.

To DB - ASL moved up well. Move your LPP to 8.5 or higher.

tt&t seems to have collapsed. chefs need to buy cheap ingredients.
epco - too many elephants feeding. The chefs seem to have given up for the time being.
gen- I predict it will go down to around 0.88 before it can build up again.
iec- building a new base around 1.2 to 1.4
mpt- needs some other boost . I think when baht turns soft around Jan-Feb next year, that will be boost for all export stocks and make reason for mpt rally

To Forecaster - I appreciate your post. Yes, chefs has changed their minds twice. They will buy cheaper ingredients for meals again. I stopped out yestoday with a 6% loss. I will buy the same cheaper ingredients as the chefs again.

EPCO: maybe too small to feed elephants. Strong support at 0.58 is already broken. Will it move down to test 0.51? Let's see.

GEN: your prediction is most probable.

MPT: sooner or later it will fly. Be patient to wait but if strong support breaks, exit together with the chefs and buy cheaper ingredients again.

Baht is weakening very quickly, those who bring in with the exch. Rate at 35.20 now lose approx 1.2-1.5% on exch. rate. The best thing for them is not to bring out to further weaken the Baht, but to invest in SET which is damn cheap.

At Monday, December 18, 2006 9:37:00 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

So there are two possible ways
1) Bring out immdly and suffer the loss in exch. rate approx 1.5% or
2) For those who cannot remit out ontime and don't want to suffer more loss in exch. rate, they may put their money in SET where they might be able to make more profit.

How to set your self up to be a millionaire:
Guys heres your opportunity again to buy very good companies at distressed prices. I love opportunities like this to pick up strong companies at bargain prices.
Remember in a previous posting i advocated holding 30% cash 70% in shares. Well nows the opportunity to draw down on those cash holdings.

From the company's business perspective nothing has really changed, these controls have nothing to do with the opperational performance for most thai companies. In fact things will be easier if the baht pulls back to the 37 odd level.
BUY BUY BUY

For an investor i strong suggest the following:
AA
City
DCC
MCOT
PTT
Sat
Spack
SMIT
SPPT
SVI
TFUND
Ticon (below 16)
TTA (below 21)
UMS (below 14)

From the start of 2004 to now my portfolio and dividends is up more than 60% (not including the latest sell off).

Best regards to the investors out there.

Again i stress, whats this got to do with the companies BUSINESS operations,
thats the difference between a speculator and investor.
If you have a one year plus time horizon this is all irelevant.
If you are playing music chairs by trying to sell stock to other people at a higher price than you paid for it, you are in deep shiit.

But if you invest with the mind frame that you actually want to own shares in a company because you believe in the company, and its share price relative to its fundamentals are strong, then this is a buying opportunity.

The call is yours, for me, i am buying buying buying.
And i just wire transferred another $40,000 US so i can continue buying tomorrow.

Regards,
Chilli

Two years too early. Who will buy the stock to make them go up? This is the end of foreign investment for the forseeable future, local mutual funds will face redemptions, retail face forced sales and margin calls so will lick wounds for 2 years and offshore syndicates can't operate anymore. There may be further selling to come in from US. Pridyathorn has come in to support BoT governor. I was here the day they devalued. It was NOT as bad as this.

A few minutes ago, the Finance Ministry Pridiyadhorn Dejvakul announced on TV that he and the B.O.T. governor agree to change the regulations. He said for the funds flown in to invest in SET and so declared properly, such funds will not be subject to the said Control anymore starting from tomorrow. However for the funds that direct to invest in money market or bonds, those funds will still be under the said Rules and Regulation without any exception.
He said that after meeting with investors, foreign funds and brokers this evening, all agree that it is the right move and confirm that SET will rebound tomorrow 100~%

I think we can forgive them and with the now more clear cut measure, the future incoming funds will be only to the SET, not to the money market, by this way, we shall see more active in the daily trading. For the SET's population, this is much better than the previous days when foreign funds come in but do not come to SET.

Be patient and you will be nicely rewarded. No point rushing in or catching a falling knife which is as devastating as a guillotine. I expect further falls in the SET as the controlling bodies has made a very big blunder with their stupid actions. The fall of the greenback is universal except against the Yen.
Foreign funds will surely continue to pull back their investments to teach those 'green-horns' at BOT who is BOSS.
Will pick those blue chips gradually based on fundamentals.

Good luck.

You talk like foreign investors are working together in a Safe-House sitting together and planning to do the buying and selling uniquely. On the other hand, I think this is good example of the one who conducts mistake and changes on time immdly rather than dragging on and on. You should remember that before today, foreigners keep on selling and selling despite a lot of funds coming in and keep SET running in the opposit direction with other markets in the region.

Pridyathorn's remark that it just one day of losses is hardly going to reassure foreign investors with choices of othe markets.

Thailand is now an investment Pariah. Sorry but you can't pardae around in a sawdust ring wearing check trousers and red noses and then pretend to the whole world that you are not clowns. The damage is done. I feel sad because while the coupmakers were not 100% right or Thaksin 100% wrong I wished the interim Government well. There was no bad feeling when I had losses following the coup, only understanding on my part, but that was what had to be, not incpompetence as in this issue. A resignation by the BoT governor might go some way to restoring credibility and quell those rumours that the BoT mandarins spend their day riding around the BoT compounnd on the backs of elephants and talking in some quaint 19th century aristospeak.

Actually thats not the case. I asked my broker to get confirmation from the bank, and i was told so long as i send the money over in amounts less than US$20,000 i wont have a problem receiving ALL of my proceeds for investment.
However i may be restricted from bringing it back within one year. But this is not a concern as, if i wish to bring money out of thailand, i can access that portion of the funds that are already in thailand.

Secondly as i stated yesterday, it nearly always pays to buy when there is blood on the streets. Yesterday i lowered the average cost holdings of DCC to 11.8 baht, managed to pick up PTT at an average of only 194 baht, my city holdings are now average cost price of only 2.2 baht bought TFUND at an incredible 8.6 baht (against its net asset value of 10.5 baht, an incredible 20% discount on concrete property, TTA buy in at only 22 baht. + others

IN HER OWN WORDS

(After Thailand's stock market fell 14.8 percent on Tuesday for its biggest one-day sell-off since Iraq invaded Kuwait in 1990):

"We should weigh the damage to the stock market against the huge gains that foreigners have reaped from the 15 percent appreciation of the baht on top of their equity investment.

"Foreigners sustained more losses as they were the main sellers. Anyway, their speculative funds were something we don't welcome."

World is laughing at Thailand. Heads must roll at BOT after their disasterous decision only to reverse it the next day. Thailand must learn to be more 'foreigner' friendly if it wants investment here. It seems that some do not want this and take us back to the banana republic. Local funds will prop up market only so far. We need foreign confidence building now. Show the world we are serious by sacking the near sighted dolts at BOT, continuing the fight against corruption and holding free elections sooner.

Good buys on the 19th except TFUND. It's illiquid and the only way to exit is to sell below NAV. It will go up a bit near dividend time but a lot of holders will be waiting to get out. So upside will be low. Only consolation is the dividend.
