Stocks discussion No.10 - 2007

Now it's October of 2007. How many days are available for the bighands to profit before Christmas? Not many. SET keeps moving up slowly and in small steps.

PTL is already UP over 200%
since our recommendation on 2 Oct.2006

To Peter C,
I forgot to comment to your stock pick of TOG in the previous thread. Now my comment as below:

TOG - It has peaked at 3.38 on 11 Sept. 07 with big volume. Then it started a correction. After its resistance is around 3.38. If its move-up is really driven by fundamental factors, you can enter now because it is now near the lower edge of the uptrend channel. But set stop at 3.00

Good luck.

Scrt4u

Thanks for the graph on UMS. It looks like today it just took out an all time high now so is the volume enough to chase? (refer your comment in previous forum)

I'm a bit conservative and like stocks with good fundamentals backed up with good technicals. (But I'm still learning about technical signals.)
TOG seems to be on the move and fits that profile so will try a small bet with 3.00 stop as you mentioned. Do your charts show targets?

Thanks again

Peter C

Peter,

I uploaded another daily chart of UMS under the thread of Stocks discussion No.9 - 2007 where you can see I do not suggest you to chase UMS.

As to TOG, it seemed that the major punters distributed their chips on 11 Sept. 2007. So the recent rebounce is not charming. It's not easy to take out the resistance at 3.38. Be cautious.

HMPRO: It's been vibrating within a horiontal channel since 18 Jan.07(low 4.85 - high 5.80). Now the price is near the lower edge/line of the channel. If the price keep this moving pattern, it could possibly move up to 5.60-5.80. If you buy, set stop at 5.00 Good luck.

uobkh: seems in uptrend. If you chase, set stop at 5.00. It's a 10% loss risk.

LH: As far as I know, it's good fundamentally. But now it seems in downtrend. Of course you can make some profit between the small vibration (up and down).

Answers to your all questions:

KSL: kimeng said "take profit" but it shot up today. So you have to make your own judgement next time.
Actually it brokeout on 5 Oct. 07. Todya it gapped up, very strongly! Move LPP to 13.50 or higher.

CSP: still cooking. Remember set a small loss stop acceptable to you.

KCE: in uptrend. Move LPP to 4.0

TRC: brokeout on 5 Oct. 07. Move LPP/stop 4.74.

SNC: seems moving up. Set stop/LPP to 13.00

AH: still above 10 das moving average line. Has not pulled back 50% yet. If you sold it for 4% profit. It's good. Don't blame yourself for selling early.

SINGHA: Move LPP to 2.68 or higher.

SICCO: Move LPP to 4.10

CCP: has shaked out for two days. Maybe just a short-lived shotup.

At Monday, October 08, 2007 7:24:00 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

To Peter C,

My TA views as follows:

SAT: It's up 70% since our recommendation on 30 Jan. 2007. It seems moving up along 70 days moving average.

UEC: It's already up 480% since Oct. 2006. It seems the tail of the fish. If you would like to chase, you better use small position and tight stop befor you set up a profit cusion.

CCET: It seems building a punting platform around 6.85. If you love this stock, enter with stop at 6.85.

Good luck.

UMS is teasing your greed. If I were you, I would use small position to chase anytime, or play other stocks.

At Monday, October 08, 2007 7:30:00 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

To CC,

"gapped up" = the low price of the day is higher than the price of the previous day. Take TT&T as an example, the high on 5 Oct.06 was 1.95 and the low of 8 Oct.06 (today) is 2.04. There is a gap between the low and the high. When there is a gap up, there must be some factor that push the price to go up so strongly, usually good expectation or good news.

At Monday, October 08, 2007 7:53:00 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

To Peter C.

When a stock is in an uptrend, you can enter any time theoretically, the difference is only the profit you make more or less. If you enter early, you make more profit; if you enter late, you make less profit. The reason we set a small loss stop is to prevent us from suffering from big loss if the uptrend reverses.

Since you seem a value investor, you must know something like "DCF method", "multiple methods" or "balance sheet method" to assess the real value of the company's stock.

Therefore if you think UMS is worth a higher price than the present market price, you are advised to bravely chase this stock with tight stop.

To sam,

When you see big volume and the price remain intact, that means the price will break out (up or down). If the price is at the low area, it will break down; if at high area, it will break up. Yestody CSL had big volume trade, you should glue your eys on this stock at today's open. When you see it is going up, BRAVELY chase it. Chase it with tight stop. Good luck.

To Peter C.

Today UMS gapped up and is making a big candlestick. Good sign that the punters will pushes it higher. Move LPP to 32.00. If 32 breaks down, take some profit and re-enter when price is stable again. Great chase!!!

At Tuesday, October 09, 2007 4:26:00 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

To soonboon,

Please read our disclaimer first before you consider our advice.

Now my comments as follows:

CSP: your avg 2.28. Don't worry about this stock. If this stock can go up to around 5, you can profit over 100%. If higher, you make more. Sooner or later it will go up to 5 or higher. Hold it patiently.

TT&T: Your avg cost is 1.56 with big position. This stock is now in uptrend. Because its weight in your portfolio, you'd better do somthing to average down your cost. I guess it will go up for this week. Hold your shares. When the candlestick becomes red near this Friday, sell 30% of your total shares. After correction, buy back again and sell 30% again when correction starts again. By selling high and buying low 1/3 of your total shares several times, you can average down your cost.

NWR: Your cost is avg .75. This stock's RSI is over 80, it's overbought. It also seems forming a double top at 0.80. I suggest you sell it. After it breaks 0.80, chase it with small loss stop.

Please make your own judgement, I am not gunning to your head to follow my advice.

To CC,

Connect the three lows on 16/08/07, 17/09/07, 09/10/07 and you can see that the price is testing the uptrend support line. If it breaks this suport line, reduce your position(if big position). Or if you would like to take more risk, you can hold and double average down when it beaks 0.78. After double average down, set a small loss stop. If the price further falls down and your loss stop is triggered, exit and surrender to the major punters.

If you are not sure what you are doing, don't take the risk.

Hope helpful.

NWR: This stock's RSI is over 80, it's overbought. It also seems forming a double top at 0.80. I suggest you sell it. After it breaks 0.80, chase it with small loss stop.
---------------------------------

When you noticed it took out resistance at 0.80 this morning, you should bravely chase it.

To CC,

UOBKH: You asked for my comment on 5 Oct. 07. Did you chase it? It gapped up today. What is a gap-up? Today's low is much higher than yestoday's high. There is a gap between them. If you did chase on 5 or 6 Oct.07, you are now in profit of 11%. congradulats! Now move LPP to 5.9 or higher.

Proof as below:
---------------------------------
uobkh: seems in uptrend. If you chase, set stop at 5.00. It's a 10% loss risk.

KM, welcome back.

BBL: looks nice now. If you buy, set stop at 121.

KEST and ASP are all in uptrend, but they are nearing resistance.

TSTH: I checked its 5 years wkly chart. I do not know if it can take out the resistance around 2.02. The resistance area is between 1.93 - 2.02.

How about your TRUE? It's now in a small rally again. If you have it, move LPP to 7.50 or higher.

I bought PTT at 342 and in the last minute it somehow dropped unexpectedly to 338.
Any advice on this ?

With the unexpectedly strong foreign investors, do you think SET is still capable of going up ?

At Wednesday, October 10, 2007 6:36:00 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

To seizhin,

PTT: Your loss is about 1%, a small loss, needless to worry.

It's in uptrend but its price is already in the high area. It has tried 3 times to take out 342 resistance but failed. I suggest you sell it tomorrow if it can not breakout (up). I think BBL is better than PTT now.

---------------
SET prediction:
---------------
The previous high of SET was 895.63. Now SET high is at 879.51. Could it take out the previous resistance? I do not know because it's difficult to predict. SET index is a combined calculation of a group of weighting stocks, such as BBL, PTT, etc... When SET is up, most stocks goes up. When SET falls, there are still some stocks that go up. If your stock pick is fundametally sound and already at the history low, it won't fall even set goes down. SET index is not the most important factor in my stock hunting system.

I don't think that when SET is up most stocks will go up. Foreigners or big investors will invest only in the leading stocks and most of them are big caps. I noticed that many small stocks are going nowhere as resources are limited.

nep: seems in a rebounce after heavy fall. Buy with tight stop. It's a little risky but stop tightly.

This is the tricks usually used by the bighands or insiders to frighten you (small retailers) not to compete with them for the cheap stocks. Bighands has been building a "bottom" for almost one year. The recent new bottom 5.30 is most probably the last shakeout before it moves up. Target 6.50 or higher.

This is only my blind guess. Make your own judgement. Good luck.

as I don't know your trading strategie it is difficult to tell you what to do. some investors who follow the stocks every day might want to switch in a better opportunity (stock that shows a break out) while others who are holding longterm should keep the stock.
tt&t: watch the slow rising support line since march and get out if it is broken. good to hold for longterm.
ah: in uptrend, touched the 200 avg at 14.6 which might be an obstacle, if broken the next resistance is around 17.
weakness today is not good so i would sell if 13.9 is broken (125 day avg) at closing.

s2y: looks good, broke the 1 year downtrend using closing figures (intraday line not broken but less important).
next resistance around 2-2.1 and maybe the 200 avg at 2.5.

adam: the 2 highs in the 1 year chart at around 4.3-4.4 will be next resistance but in the longrun it looks bulish.
seamico techie says sup. 3.8-4 and res. 4.4-4.6.
i say it should have been bought on monday and tomorrow might be the day to sell already (and byu back later).
watch the rising uptrend since january (or july 2006 in the weekly chart), now 3.4.

rs: looks like the punters tried to push it today but gave up. watch it but buy only if close above 4.1

cvd: tested 1 year high today, rsi is overbought at 80. volume at 1 year high as well (peak?), weekly chart looks good so a buy on weakness (17.5-18) might be ok with stop 17.3 (uptrend support line since sept.)

ums: the price went up today with decreasing volume, a sign that this uptrend can not be sustained. maybe it is the warrant hunting and afterwards the stock tumbles down.
the 3 highs in may, august and october form a resistance line and this line was reached again today.
i can't comment on the warrants if they are not traded yet. when they are traded on the market i can tell if they are overpriced or cheap.
remember that free warrants are not really free (as soon as it is known that free warrants are issued the stock goes up and the warrants are priced in). After xw the stock will trade lower by the value of the warrant, so you own the warrant and sell it as profit but lose the similar amount on the stock.

uec: 400% up this year already…..a channel has been formed since june and now the stock is at the resistance line. it could be broken with a rally that lasts a couple of days only or it will trade sideways or down the next week.
watch the uptrend line since 29th of aug (now at 37.6 and the uptrend since june at 34. both are VERY important stoploss or support lines

tog: a buy on weakness still possible, but if the uptrend line since august is broken (around 3.1-3.2), RUN.

general comment: i won't give buy recommendations on stocks like the above that made a strong rally already, as it is necessary to follow these very closely. one can lose a lot if they start to crash.

other stocks to watch:
today it seemed that some cooking stocks were targeted (s2y and kaset). as the blue chips had a good run, punters will push now the laggards, so watch other stocks closely for any signs.

stocks targeted could be:
csp, de, mdx, mpt, n-park, nvl, q-con, sthai, tfi
and maybe:
iec (nice triangle), kmc, mme pae, super, tgpro

mida: could rebound from all time low, keep an eye on it

samco: buy if downtrend lince since july is broken.

patkl: some increase in volume today but could not lift. as there was a strong rebound at this level in august it would be an opportunity to collect slowly share by share for longterm, especially if it reaches the alltime low of 2.
for the gamblers: you could buy now and use 2.4 as stop, closing or intraday, but with the rsi still high i think it will go down much further.

aj: always good for a 1 day rally but it rather looks like we will see a new low. forget it.

jas: is there a weak uptrend line since january? if yes it would be a good buying opportunity with stop 0.44, but the macd turns bearish. flip a coin if you buy or not and don't expect anything this year.

ever: connect april and june highs and the line touches the actual value now. buy only on breakout with strong volume as it is a bearish triangle.

ccp: buy around 1.2 where the longterm horizontal support is (see weekly chart).

psap: connect the high on 20.8. with todays high and buy on breakout. 25 and 75 avg are now equal and same as the stock price so it can go either way. next support to buy in could be in the area of 1.1-1.2 or much, much lower.

win: looks bearish, a rebound will stall at 1-1.05 (if it goes above this numbers on heavy volume it would be ok to chase)

brook: superstrong resistance at 0.9 = 12% upside only. downside could be a new low.

bt and tmb: just started to head down, tmb might do a double bottom at 1.5 but too early to tell, bt is unclear due to xr today.

loxley: finding support at 2.4 after short correction. buy with stop 2.4 closing or intraday.

emc: is trapped between the 25/200 and 75/125 avg., not so sure how it will react but might be worth to jump in if 3.44 is broken intraday.

samart: entry should have been on the 19th when it broke the 25 and 75 day avg., today tested the 200 avg and failed which should result in further weakness.
breaking 8.45 intraday with rising volume should change the picture to a buy. lt chart looks bearish.

thl: something to buy in if it breaks above 1.8 or so, could make a new low now.

HI Zorro!

My question is STAR vs. STAR-W....which has more potential, or worth to hold the warrant anyway??
have a bit of both, from some time before, need some advice.
many thanks!

the b&s value of star-w is only 0.11 because of the low volatility of this stock. that’s why i would not recommend to hold the warrant.
looking at both charts i would sell both anyway: star is going sideways since one year and the warrant is drifting lower. buy back if they wake up (volume increase).

zorro what do you think about ccet vs.ccet-w1 vs ccet-w2?
ccet got another 3 years contract from seagate according ke,
also what about nncl and nncl-w1 ?

Thanks

pau

ccet-warrants are both trading close to the b&s value (most of the warrants trade much higher and so are more expensive compare to the share), but w1 has a gearing of 2.9 while w2 has 1.3 only, so if you like warrants the w1 should perform better when the share continues its run and has a much higher trading volume as well.
just watch the uptrend line since march for ccet (use the closing numbers) and run if broken.

nncl-w1: iI would wait with the warrant until nncl can get back above 2.5.
the warrant is neither cheap nor expensive but for the longrun you should be safer with the share for the moment.

Thanks zorro for your comments.
I followed nncl since quite a time as kimeng recomends it strongly but either kimeng is not able or willing to bring nncl up.

Poured on BBL and it moves up slowly, lower than the last 895 index. It still have the potential to reach 150 in a long term investment.

It seems that most money were invested in PTT and BANPU.

For those who still has PTT ever since 14th Oct, it's time to consider selling them.

Now SET is poorer than a Casino
In the Casino, every booth is jammed with gamblers but in SET, investgamblers visit only Energy booth and no others.

Hi everyone,

I'm back. Hope you have profited from LOXLEY and other recommendations.
------------------

To And,

TSTH: your avg cost is 1.79, you should hold it and set LPP/stop at 1.75 today. Good luck.

PTT: this stock has been pushed up for over 100% since last April. Now move LPP to 400 or higher.

During my abscence, zorro did a good job! The following stocks picked by zorro, I think are worth your attention.

stocks targeted could be:
csp, de, mdx, mpt, n-park, nvl, q-con, sthai, tfi

and maybe:
iec (nice triangle), kmc, mme pae, super, tgpro

mida: could rebound from all time low, keep an eye on it

samco: buy if downtrend lince since july is broken.

RASA: this is also a fundamentally sound stock. In a TA view, it is charming.

Take good care of your own money.
Good luck.
